Joint project in Tajikistan has its first results
A Computer Training Center in Vahdat region, not far from Dushanbe, is one of the programs of the NGO “Tajikistan in Development” (TID), established in the fall of 2006 by CELA fellows in Tajikistan to address a lack of educational opportunities in rural parts of Tajikistan.

33 Cardiac Surgeries for Children in 10 Days
Najeeb Bina, CELA 3 fellow from Afghanistan, traveled from France to Kabul in May 2008 to conduct the first open-heart pediatric cardiac surgeries ever performed in Afghanistan, via the worldwide volunteer program Surgeons of Hope, in French Medical Institute for Children in Kabul.

Project in Kyrgyzstan
CELA fellows in Kyrgyzstan launched a CELA Club that serves as a platform for communication between young leaders of the country. It was started up in April 2008 to conduct special events with high-profile speakers to raise awareness among participants of various spheres of life. CELA Club conducts regular meetings. Read more >

Joint project of CELA TJ, KG, UZ
In July 2008 hospitals of Karakalpakstan, the Aral Sea Region of Uzbekistan received medical supplies due to the collaboration of CELA fellows with the SIBF Global Network Foundation (Atlanta, USA), MedShare International (Atlanta, USA) and Counterpart International (Washington, D.C.).

In May 2005 CELA was showcased at a forum and roundtable in Astana, Kazakhstan within the framework of a conference of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) – specifically, focusing on how to reform and strengthen the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).
